Upcoming Road Closures - September 2026

We would like to make residents aware of several upcoming road closures and traffic management measures taking place in the local area during September and October 2026. Please see the details below for each location and planned activity.

Please note that all dates and times are subject to change due to weather conditions or operational requirements. Motorists are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and follow signed diversion routes where applicable.

A43: Brackley - Syresham

National Highways will be carrying out drainage installation and verge works on the A43 between Brackley and Syresham.

Times: 8:00pm - 6:00am

Southbound Closure:

• Monday 5 October 2026
• Tuesday 6 October 2026
• Wednesday 7 October 2026 (including additional single lane closure northbound)
• Thursday 8 October 2026 (including additional single lane closure northbound)
• Friday 9 October 2026
• Saturday 10 October 2026

Full Road Closure:

• Wednesday 14 October 2026

Contingency Dates:

• Thursday 15 October 2026 (full closure)
• Friday 16 October 2026 (southbound closure)

A signed diversion route will be in place where required.

A43 Closures - More Information

A422: Brackley - Westbury

Works are continuing on the drainage system in the area, including the installation of concrete ditches and channel units to improve water flow and management. Inspection and cleaning of drainage pipes will also be carried out.

A422: Additional Road Closure

Patching works will be carried out in preparation for future surface treatment works. Defects and potholes will be repaired and the carriageway levelled.

Radstone Road: Brackley - Radstone

Traffic management will be in place to allow works to be carried out safely along Radstone Road north of Brackley.

Oxford Road: Tesco - A43 Roundabout

West Northamptonshire Council will be carrying out highway repair and maintenance works on Oxford Road. The closure will be in place from the roundabout with Lauda Drive to the roundabout leading onto the A43.
