Upcoming Road Closures - June 23 2026

We would like to make residents aware of several upcoming road closures and traffic management measures taking place in the local area from June 2026 onwards. Please see the details below for each location and planned activity.

• Bulls Lane - Thorpe Mandeville

A43: North of Brackley

Works are taking place on the A43 north of Brackley as part of the final phase of the road realignment project, connecting the new section of the A43 with the existing carriageway. Activities will include the installation of new signage, road resurfacing, and the application of new white lining.

To carry out these works safely, weekend carriageway closures will be required in one direction at a time, with lane closures also necessary during the programme of works.

• Friday 10 July, 20:00 - Sunday 12 July, 07:00 (Southbound)
• Friday 17 July, 20:00 - Sunday 19 July, 07:00 (Northbound)

Contingency Dates (if required):

• Friday 24 July, 20:00 - Sunday 26 July, 07:00 (Southbound)
• Friday 31 July, 20:00 - Sunday 2 August, 07:00 (Northbound)

Traffic Management:

Lane closures will be in place as required to allow the A43 realignment works to be carried out safely. Delays and diversions should be expected while works are in progress. All activities remain subject to the necessary consents and may be subject to change.

A43: Brackley - Towcester (Silverstone Formula One)

Temporary traffic management measures will be in place around Silverstone during the event weekend to help manage increased traffic volumes and improve access to and from the circuit. Measures include one-way systems, temporary road closures and traffic controls on key routes.

Traffic Management:

• A43 one-way system in operation

(Morning traffic flow toward circuit / afternoon traffic flow away from circuit)

Times

• Approximately 05:00 - 15:00

Traffic Management:

The A43 will be closed to through traffic and operated as a one-way route. During morning hours, the one-way system will funnel traffic toward the circuit, and during the afternoon, traffic will flow away from the circuit.

• AM: Northbound from Brackley and Southbound from Towcester towards circuit.
• PM: Southbound towards Brackley and Northbound towards Towcester away from circuit.

Abthorpe Crossroads will also be closed to traffic entering Silverstone village between approximately 15:00 and 22:00.

A422: Brackley - Westbury

Road works and traffic management are scheduled on the A422 between Brackley and Westbury to allow utilities in the area to be redirected as part of the construction of a new overbridge. These works will include a series of weekend road closures and periods of traffic management with lane closures near the HS2 compound.

Traffic management will be in place for extended periods with full weekend closures taking place overnight from Friday through to Monday morning.

• Overnight, Fridays 20:00 - Mondays 05:30

Dates:

• Friday 31 July - Monday 3 August 2026

Traffic Management:

• Temporary traffic lights, continuous

Dates:

• Monday 15 June - Saturday 1 August

Bulls Lane: Thorpe Mandeville

The road closure at Bulls Lane, Thorpe Mandeville remains in place to allow for the installation of a new utility across Bulls Lane at its junction with Banbury Road. This is a continuous closure that is still active after 1 June 2026 and is due to finish on Friday 26 June 2026.
