Upcoming Road Closures - June 2026

We would like to make residents aware of several upcoming road closures and traffic management measures taking place in the local area from June 2026 onwards. Please see the details below for each location and planned activity.

• Church Lane - Mixbury
• Bulls Lane - Thorpe Mandeville

A43: Brackley - Towcester

Essential maintenance and HS2-related works are scheduled on the A43 between the A5/A43 Towcester Relief Road and Northampton Road roundabout. These works include cyclical maintenance activities such as grass cutting, drainage works, sign cleaning, structure inspections, and vehicle restraint system repairs and inspections.

To carry out the works safely, sections of the road will be closed overnight in phases. Northbound closures will take place first, followed by southbound closures the following week.

Road Closures: 

• Overnight (20:00 to 06:00)

Dates: 

• Wednesday 3 June -Saturday 6 June (southbound closure)

Traffic Management:

• Full carriageway closure, with additional lane closures. A fully signed diversion route will be in place.

A422: Brackley - Westbury

Road works and traffic management are scheduled on the A422 between Brackley and Westbury to allow utilities in the area to be redirected as part of the construction of a new overbridge. These works will include a series of weekend road closures and periods of traffic management with lane closures near the HS2 compound.

Traffic management will be in place for extended periods with full weekend closures taking place overnight from Friday through to Monday morning.

Road Closures:

• Overnight, Fridays 20:00 to Mondays 05:30

Dates:

• Friday 5 June to Monday 8 June 2026
• Friday 12 June to Monday 15 June 2026
• Friday 19 June to Monday 22 June 2026
• Friday 31 July to Monday 3 August 2026 

Traffic Management:

• Temporary traffic lights, continuous

Dates:

• Monday 15 June - Saturday 1 August

Traffic management and closures will be removed when safe to do so however delays and diversions should be expected while works are in progress.

Church Lane at Featherbed Lane: Mixbury

The closure will remain in place to facilitate the realignment of the Featherbed Lane overbridge.

Road Closure:

• Continuous

Bulls Lane: Thorpe Mandeville

The road closure at Bulls Lane, Thorpe Mandeville remains in place to allow for the installation of a new utility across Bulls Lane at its junction with Banbury Road. This is a continuous closure that is still active after 1 June 2026 and is due to finish on Friday 26 June 2026.
