As part of the centenary commemorations, the Town Council is looking to create a field of poppies on the High Street, ready for the Remembrance Day Service on the 11th November 2018. At the Town Council meeting on 4th December, Councillors considered a request from a local resident to register Brackley Library as an Asset of Community Value. In England, an asset of community value (ACV) is land or property of importance to a local community which is subject to additional protection from development under the Localism Act 2011. This Sunday 17th December 2017 at 6.00pm on Burgess Square/Market Place car-park.
Brackley and District Band and Junior Group 'Majors & Minors' will accompany the singing. Refreshments will be available from Brackley Butchers and Waynflete Lodge.

Building on the success of last year's inaugural Lantern Parade we were delighted to see so many local children attend workshops to decorate lanterns for this year's parade. Having advertised the vacancy here on the website, four excellent candidates put themselves forward for co-option. At the meeting last night Councillors chose Mr Bernie Tiller to be the new councillor for the East Ward.

The first Brackley Christmas Lantern Parade added to this year's Christmas Lights switch-on over the weekend, with 200+ local children lead by Town Mayor Cllr Fiona Baker parading from Brackley Methodist Church to Burgess Square.

Brackley Remembrance Parade & Service will take place on Sunday 13th November. The Parade will commence at 2.40pm followed by a Service of Remembrance at 3.00pm at the town war memorial.
Organisations taking part in the Parade are requested to meet at Magdalen College School, St. John's site, High Street, Brackley by 2.20pm.

We are pleased to announce that, after a two-year absence, Brackley will once again have a Town Firework Display this year. The event will take place on Saturday 5th November at St. John's Playing Fields, Magdalen College School.
