The Deputy Mayor of Brackley Cllr Kate Nash was delighted to join members of Brackley & District Bowls Club recently to officially open the club's brand-new car park, funded through a grant from HS2.

Joined by club members, special guests and representatives from HS2, the ribbon was cut, marking the opening of the new facility, which will help make the club even more accessible for members, visitors and the wider community.

The Deputy Mayor was then shown around the club's facilities, including the county-level outdoor green and five indoor rinks. She even took part in a traditional "spider" game during the visit!

During the celebration in the clubhouse following the opening, Cllr Nash and club members spoke about the project and the club's important role in the community, with special thanks given to member Trevor Gregory for his hard work and dedication in helping to bring the project to fruition.

With a history spanning more than 100 years, Brackley & District Bowls Club continues to bring people of all ages together through sport and friendship, and these new improvements will help support the club's bright future.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone involved in making this fantastic community improvement possible.
