Public Teams Meeting Tonight - WNC Budget

The meeting taking place this evening at 6:30pm on Microsoft Teams is a valuable opportunity for residents to comment and express their views on the controversial proposal to introduce paid parking in Brackley, in the form of both a long stay car park and on street pay and display.
The “Your Money, Your Say” public Teams meeting, hosted by West Northamptonshire Council leaders, cabinet members and senior officers, aims to explain the budget proposals for 2026/27, with the final budget due to be set by West Northamptonshire Council on Thursday 26 February 2026.
Alongside the paid parking proposal, which Brackley Town Council members, staff and the Brackley Town Mayor have officially opposed, the budget includes other items that could affect Brackley residents. Reading through the budget ahead of the meeting will help provide a clear understanding of the proposals and make it easier to follow the discussion during the meeting.
Residents can ask questions live via Microsoft Teams during the meeting, or submit them in advance. Engaging with the council in this way helps shape future budget decisions and ensures the public’s views are heard.
We would like to express our gratitude to West Northamptonshire Council for hosting this session, which, as far as we are aware, is the first of its kind, directly connecting council members and staff with residents outside of an official council meeting to share information and opinions on proposed budget changes. This is a unique opportunity to express your thoughts on the changes that affect our day to day lives.
