Northamptonshire Police Notice - Early Morning Door Knockers

There have been reports of several doorbells being rung in the early hours in Brackley town centre which has woken and caused distress to home residents, one of which was 91 years old.

As a reminder, please consider the following home security points:

·  Keep side gates bolted shut

·  Keep wheelie bins etc garden side of any gates

·  Consider house alarms/dummy alarm boxes

·  Consider video doorbells

·  Keep yourselves locked in when home and check your property is fully locked prior to going to bed

·  Leave a light on if you’re going to be out when it’s dark, use a timer for these if you’re going away

If you see/hear anything suspicious – please report it to Northamptonshire Police either on 999 if it’s an emergency or a crime in progress or 101 to report a crime that’s already happened or in a non-emergency situation.
