New Guidelines for Banners at Poppyfields and Zipwire Parks

Following recent feedback from residents, the Council has updated the guidelines for displaying banners at Poppyfields Park, Zipwire Park, and the junction of Banbury Road and the High Street.

Banners from charities and non-profit community groups continue to be permitted at all locations. Commercial advertising banners are not permitted. If you would like to display a banner, please contact the Council in advance to book a space. We will confirm the location, how long the banner can remain in place, and when it should be removed.

At Poppyfields Park only, banners promoting events taking place within Brackley are permitted, including both commercial and non-commercial events. This exception has been made because this space is particularly effective for promoting local events. Banners for events taking place outside the town, as well as all other commercial advertising, remain prohibited.

The length of time non-commercial banners can be displayed will be arranged on a case-by-case basis at the time of booking. Event banners at Poppyfields Park may be displayed for up to two weeks before the event and must be removed within three days after the event has taken place.

Any banners displayed without permission, or left beyond the agreed period, will be safely removed and stored at Council premises. Owners can arrange collection by contacting the Council by phone, email, or in person.

These guidelines are intended to keep these areas tidy and welcoming, while continuing to provide space for local organisations and events to promote their activities.

To book a banner space for your charity, non-profit group, or local event, please contact Brackley Town Council by email at office@brackleynorthants-tc.gov.uk or by phone on 01280 702 441, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 4:00pm.
