Lord-Lieutenant Visits Brackley

A big thank you to the Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, James Saunders Watson, for visiting us last Friday and seeing first-hand what makes our town so special.

Joined by Cllr Fiona Baker, former Brackley Councillor of West Northamptonshire Council, Brackley Town Mayor Cllr Jason Kew, Brackley Town Clerk Kathy Hale and Miranda Wixon, Chair of Food for Thought Daventry and representative of the Brackley Community Larder, the Lord-Lieutenant began his visit with a tour of Brackley Charter Market, chatting with traders and taking in the atmosphere of our little market town.

Throughout the day, the group met local volunteers, community organisations, businesses and healthcare providers, learning more about the fantastic work taking place across Brackley, from supporting residents through the Community Larder and Foodbank to celebrating community initiatives and local services.

As the King's representative in Northamptonshire, the Lord-Lieutenant plays an important role in recognising and supporting communities across the county. It was wonderful to showcase the people, services and volunteers who help make Brackley such a welcoming and vibrant town.
