Brackley Town Council has responded to West Northamptonshire Council's latest Active Travel proposals, which aim to improve road safety and make it easier for people to walk, wheel and cycle around the town.

Following an earlier consultation, WNC has now developed more detailed proposals and is seeking feedback from residents before any decisions are made.

The proposals cover three key routes across Brackley. Scheme 1 covers Manor Road and Waynflete Avenue, with WNC considering changes including one-way traffic arrangements, new and improved crossing points, and parking measures near local schools.

Proposals for Scheme 2 include improvements to crossing facilities and measures to help reduce vehicle speeds along the High Street at Burwell Hill and Northampton Road, with options such as speed bumps or chicanes being considered.

Scheme 3 covers Halse Road. While no specific proposals have been developed at this stage, WNC is seeking residents' views on what improvements they would like to see in the future along this important route linking the other two schemes.

Residents can read the full proposals, view detailed maps and find out more about each scheme using the links below. Once you've reviewed the information, you can also complete the online survey and share your thoughts.

The survey includes some general questions before providing an opportunity to comment on each individual scheme. There is no requirement to answer every question, so if you only wish to comment on a specific proposal, you are welcome to do so.

Brackley Town Council encourages residents to take part, as the proposed changes could have a significant impact on how people move around Brackley in the future, and local feedback will help WNC reach an informed decision.

The consultation closes at 11.59pm on Sunday 11 October 2026, so make sure to have your say before the deadline.
