Budget Consultation 2022-2023

Brackley Town Council agreed a draft budget for 2022/2023 at their meeting on 20 December 2021. We now welcome your views on the draft budget in writing by Thursday 6 January so that comments can be considered at the council meeting on Monday 10 January 2022 before setting the final budget.

Brackley Town Council owns and manages a wide range of facilities and services including the Town Hall, Old Fire Station, Egerton Hall, public toilets along with many open spaces and play areas.

For any organisation to operate effectively it needs a sound budget. The past two years have been particularly difficult for most due to COVID-19 and this coming year is also expected to bring additional pressures as caution remains from the impact of the pandemic. The Town Council's income and the need to support the local community and facilities may continue to be impacted by COVID-19 into 2022/23. This has become more challenging operationally and in reviewing the annual budget, this had to be considered.

We are able to report that we are anticipating a 3% increase in the Brackley Town Council aspect of the Council Tax for this financial period. This amounts to an increase of £4.48/year on a Band D property.
