UPDATE ...... Dead fish in St. James' Lake
Officers from the Environment Agency have now visited St. James' Lake following sightings of dead fish in the water. We are advised that the fish have died as a result of disease, possibly brought in by non-native fish. Members of Brackley & District Angling Club have photographic evidence of non-native fish int he lake such as Goldfish and Koi Carp.
Although there is no danger to the public, Brackley Town Council along with Brackley & District Angling Club are extremely concerned that the ecology of St. James' Lake is being threatened. We urge visitors to the lake to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity or sighting of dead fish. Please call 01280 702441 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Members of Brackley & District Angling Club will remove all infected fish as soon as possible, for which Council is grateful.
