Free Wool for Poppies

Posted in Brackley Town Council

We’re excited to offer free wool to residents who want to take part in our Poppy Project. This year we’re revitalising the beautiful poppy cascades that hang from the Town Hall each November for Remembrance.

The last poppy project was in 2018 when the Brackley community amazed us with over 10,000 knitted and crocheted poppies. Thanks to residents’ dedication we’ve already received many wonderful creations but we still need more to make this year’s display truly spectacular.

No experience needed, and there is no set pattern or style. All knitted or crocheted poppies are welcome. If you would like some inspiration there are hundreds of patterns and tutorials online, or you can get help at local knitting and crochet clubs in Brackley.

To take part simply drop by the council office any time Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, to collect your free wool and start creating. Let’s make this year’s poppy display brighter than ever.
