Christmas Bin Collections 2025

- Collections due Thursday 25 December will take place on Saturday 27 December
- Collections due Friday 26 December will take place on Monday 29 December
- Collections due Thursday 1 January will take place on Saturday 3 January
Extra recycling
If you have more recycling than fits in your bin, you can put it in clear plastic bags or boxes and leave it next to your recycling bin. You can also take extra recycling to your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre, but you must book a slot in advance.
Batteries must never go in any bin. Place used batteries in a plastic bag and leave them on top of either bin. You can also take them to a Recycling Centre or return them to a retailer.
Recycling Centres
Centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. They will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve. All other days they are open 10am to 4pm. Booking is required before visiting.
Garden waste
Garden waste collections are suspended from Monday 22 December to Sunday 4 January.
Real Christmas trees
Real trees will be collected between Monday 5 January and Friday 16 January on your usual garden waste day. You do not need to be subscribed to the garden waste service for this. Trees over 6ft should be cut in half. You can also take trees to a Recycling Centre.
Food waste
Food waste collections will continue weekly as normal. Leftover raw and cooked food, peelings, shells and bones can all go in your food caddy.
