Brackley Bus Service Improvments

Local bus news! West Northamptonshire Council has announced upcoming changes to bus routes between Brackley and Northampton, starting Monday 1 September.
The biggest updates include the 87 being replaced by the 88, and the launch of a new express X88 service offering faster journeys between Brackley and Northampton.
These changes, part of the Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP), are designed to make journeys more frequent and reliable for work, education, health, shopping and leisure. They are being delivered through a partnership involving West Northamptonshire Council, Silverstone Park MEPC, Stagecoach Midlands and the Department for Transport.
New X88 | Brackley–Northampton (via Silverstone & Towcester)
A faster, limited-stop express service connecting Brackley and Northampton via Silverstone Business Park.
Service 88 | Brackley–Northampton (via Silverstone & Towcester)
Now extended to Brackley, replacing the 87 between Brackley and Towcester. It will also serve Silverstone Business Park, with some journeys continuing to Syresham.
Service 87 | Towcester–Northampton (including Northampton General Hospital)
This route will no longer run to Brackley, as the 88 and X88 cover the link. It will instead extend to the hospital, improving connections for patients, visitors and staff. Silverstone UTC students can use the 88 service.
WNC is also inviting bus users to take part in a short survey to help shape the future of local bus services. Results from the survey will guide future planning and investment as part of the Government-funded Bus Service Improvement Plan.
Anyone who has used a bus in West Northamptonshire in the last four weeks is encouraged to take part. The survey takes around five minutes to complete and is open until Friday 19 September
