South Northants Council is the local Planning Authority for Brackley and they have full powers when considering planning applications.
Brackley Town Council is consulted on all applications falling within the town boundary. These are considered at the Planning & General Works Committee Meetings which are held each month. This committee inspects all sites and scrutinises the plans for every application. Its comments are then passed to South Northants Council for their deliberations, which may or may not be taken into consideration. Members of the public are entitled to attend our Planning & General Works Committee Meetings and the Chairman will normally allow them to speak.
For residents, you must be aware of the Conservation Area as this imposes further restrictions should your property be located within it. There are also a large number of trees with TPOs (Tree Preservation Orders) and you should check with South Northants Council before you carry out any work on a tree within the town.
South Northants Planning Department can assist you with initial enquiries prior to full planning application submission or to answer questions and queries relating to all buildings and trees which may have TPO's.
