Brackley Charter Fair - Road Closures

As Brackley Charter Fair arrives in town this evening, the following road closures will be in place:

From this evening, Tuesday 8th September from 10.00pm until 10.00am Sunday 13th September

- Market Place car-park
- Market Place slip road from Magdalen College School gates to car-park exit
- Town Hall slip-road to car-park exit

All vehicles MUST be removed from the above areas by 10.00pm Tuesday 8th September.... Read More »

As you may be aware, centuries ago Brackley was granted a Royal Charter which amongst other things gives Showmen the right to hold an annual "Charter Fun Fair"

Given the charter was granted by Royal assent the only way the Fair could be prevented from attending is by act of Parliament.

Free Heritage Walking Tours

Free Heritage Walking Tours

Brackley Town Council, as part of the Heritage Open Day festival, will be running FREE heritage walking tours on Saturday 12th September.

Find out more about our town with trained tour guides!

The tours will last approximately 1 hour and the tours will run inline with government guidelines surrounding Coronavirus.

Footpath closed behind Town Park

Footpath closed behind Town Park

The footpath located directly behind Brackley Town Park leading from Buckingham Road to Pebble Lane has been closed today until further notice.

Following a structural survey of the park wall, and recent extreme weather conditions, the wall is deemed to be un-safe and has been closed to ensure the health and safety of all.

This closure does not affect use of Brackley Town Park.
