Gwen was brought up in South Wales, studied in Hull and started her working life in London where she lived for 30 years. She built up and sold a business; spent 10 years leading government-funded enterprise and educational projects during which time she worked in some of the UK's most under-privileged and challenging communities. In her spare time she developed a support network for female entrepreneurs.
In the mid-90s Gwen started an organisation that promotes, recognises and promotes female talent working in the City of London. Gwen has built a strong presence in the City and in 2009 she was named Management Champion by the Chartered Institute of Management City Branch for her work in promoting workplace equality.
A Freeman of the City of London and a Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers Gwen sits on its Finance & General Purposes Committee and is an Assistant to the Court – the body that manages the Company's affairs.
She has travelled widely, mentors students and young professionals, enjoy a wide range of interests and has a broad friendship circle.
