Now retired, Chris Cartmell is an engineer by trade and worked in After Sales Customer Care for almost 40 years with a large European Vehicle Manufacturer, based in Milton Keynes. He still retains links with the company, as a Pension Trustee Director.
He moved to Brackley in 1979 and joined the Town Council in 1991. Was Town Mayor in 1997/98. Together with Jane his wife, they have brought up a family in the town and are all too aware of the various shortfalls in infrastructure which beset us in a small market town buried away in the far south of the county.
Has served on the Governing Bodies of both Southfield Primary School and Magdalen College School. Other interests in the town include, the Rugby Club, European Association (Town Twinning) and Neighbourhood Watch. Now retired, he is able to devote more time to his main hobby of restoring classis cars.
Has a strong belief that Brackley Town Council remains non-political in the main; in that everything the Council does should be for the good of everyone in the town and surrounding area.
