Caryl Billingham (who presently serves as a South Ward Councillor) was
elected
to the Town Council in August 1975 and is also a serving member of the
District
Council. During her time on the Town Council she has held the Office of
Town
Mayor in 1979/80, 1989/90, 1998/2000 and 2009/10.
She was born in Brackley and educated at Brackley High School. She also
attended
Universities in Coventry, Toulouse, France and Granada, Spain. Her family
were
newsagents in the town for many years with shops in both High Street and
Market
Place.
Some of her other involvements with the Town are as President of Brackley
Players, Chairman of the Brackley Feoffee Charity and a Trustee of
Brackley
Cottage Hospital. She is a past member of the Anglo American Committee at
RAF
Croughton and also served as a School Governor of Southfield School for 20
years.
