The Town Council consists of 15 elected members who serve for a four-year term of office. The town is divided into three wards, East Ward, South Ward and West Ward, each is represented by 5 elected members serving on the Town Council.  The Town Council appoints Committees at the Annual Meeting of the Council held in May each year and Members are appointed to serve on the four Committees formed to conduct the business of the Town Council. These are Planning & General Works Committee, Direct Responsibilities & General Purposes Committee, Finance & Policy Committee and the Radstone Fields Development Committee (formed in December 2011 MIN 421/11).
