Blake is a family man who has lived and worked in Brackley for the past 31 years; twenty-four of those as headmaster of Southfield School. He has been a town councillor for twenty-eight years and an Independent district councillor for eighteen.
Blake is very involved in numerous voluntary organizations. He is Chairman of Banbury and Brackley CAB, Chairman of the Patient and Public Involvement Forum for Two Shires Ambulance Service; he is also a trustee of Feoffee, the Cottage Hospital and Victim Support. Although he says he hasn't a musical note in his body he still manages to be Chairman of Brackley and District Music School and the Chairman of the Committee which puts on Brackley annual music festival!
