Notice of overnight road closures, A43 Brackley BP Roundabout to the Syresham junction

Posted in Roads & Transport

What are we doing?

Last year we began constructing a temporary diversion of a short section of the A43 in both directions, running alongside the existing A43, near Brackley. This diversion is required so that we can build the new A43 overbridge that will carry traffic over the HS2 railway line. We are now ready to complete further utility diversions, including the installation of pipework and manholes as well as temporary earthworks. These are for the centre island site of the new A43 overbridge.

These utility works along the A43 Southbound, towards Oxford will be carried out overnight, Monday to Friday. There will also be periodic overnight lane closure on the A43 Northbound.

These dates may be subject to change due to circumstances outside of our control. We will continue to collaborate with National Highways and update local communities on the progression of our work.

Access for emergency services will be maintained with caution.

When will these works take place?

The A43 Southbound will be fully closed overnight from the Syresham junction to the Brackley BP roundabout.

These closures will take place on the following dates:

  • Monday 15 January to Friday 23 February from 8pm to 6am, excluding weekends

During this time, the A43 Northbound will have periodic lane closures from the Syresham Junction to the Brackley BP roundabout.

Where will the works take place?

The map above, shows the section of the A43 that will have overnight road closures from the Brackley BP roundabout to the Syresham junction. The diversion route is via the A421, A422 and A5

In addition to this notice, the road closure information will also be communicated through traditional road signage as well as electronic signage, these signs will be located in safe and strategic locations. We would like to remind all road users to plan their journeys, allow more time and follow the diversion routes.

For the safety of road users and our workforce there will also be speed restrictions on this section of road.
